Branded Content Editor - Weather.com

October 2018 - June 2020

Managed branded and sponsored content campaign for Weather.com, The Weather Channel social channels, and The Weather Channel app. Oversaw projects from conception through delivery. Wrote and edited articles for new and ongoing campaigns. Wrote video scripts and oversaw production of sponsored videos. Managed freelancers and contractors. Project-managed the 'Water Channel' initiative with our parent company, IBM — a project that won the 2020 Digiday Award for Best B2C Branded Content Site and the 2020 IAC Award Best Environmental Online Campaign.

Lead Content Collaborations Editor - Upworthy/GOOD

Lead editor of the content collaborations editorial team, overseeing a team of writers and freelancers. Worked daily with my team to pitch, produce, assign and edit engaging stories that met our editorial standards and satisfied our clients' needs. Successfully completed 72 campaigns on time and under budget, which accounted for 60% of the company’s revenue. Clients included Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Cigna, March of Dimes, The CW, Johnson & Johnson, and State Farm. Promoted to lead editor in Oct. 2017.

Science Editor - Business Insider

June 2016 - August 2016

Ran the science vertical, overseeing a team of two reporters and two interns. Pitched, wrote and edited daily science and health articles. Managed and grew the BI Science social accounts. Laid off following the merger of Business Insider and Tech Insider.

Associate Editor - Weather.com

July 2014 - May 2016

Wrote articles and created slideshows for Travel and Sports & Rec. verticals of weather.com. Edited copy and fact-checked longform articles. Reported breaking news and packaged photos during severe weather. Managed the “Travel by the Weather Channel" Facebook page and The Weather Channel Pinterest page. Promoted from Assistant Editor in July 2015.
